Youth & Adult Learn to Sail
RGYC has purchased 2 x J24 (24 feet) type training keel-boats that give a great introduction to sailing! Learning sailing on a small keel-boat is a good way to understand the fundamentals of sailing in a safe learning environment. it is a great way to learn the ropes!
Sail Experience – with an accredited instructor
We also have a short 2 hour sailing experience available with am Australian Sailing qualified instructor, who can advise on all aspects of learn to sail options here at the RGYC.
This course is designed to improve your sailing skills by building on your practical and theory knowledge that you have previously learnt through the Start Crewing Course.
Start Skippering – spinnakers and racing!
You will now advance your sailing skills and safety knowledge to enable you to skipper unsupervised in sheltered waters. Skills, knowledge and experience are built on the experiences you’ve gained from completing the Start Crewing and Start Helming courses. Cost $375

Sailing courses for teenagers
RGYC is trialling, on behalf of Australian Sailing, a course specifically designed for teenagers aged 12-17.
Introductory courses will include all aspects of sailing and water based activities, including keelboat sailing, dinghy sailing, Virtual reality and Standup paddleboarding.
There are then courses held Sundays, throughout term 1, to continue the sailing experience.
The sessions are divided into morning sessions for 12-14 year olds, and afternoon sessions for 15-17 year olds.
