The Royal Geelong Yacht Club offers a first class 240 berth marina for Club visitors, guests and members alike.
Located in the heart of Geelong's spectacular waterfront precinct, it provides secure temporary and permanent berthing for yachts and power boats while visitors enjoy the hospitality of our Club, or dine at one of the many nearby restaurants or hotels. If you are visiting RGYC we recommend that you phone ahead on 0418 524 867 and make a booking. If you arrive late, you can tie up along the western side of the main marina arm (painted white), or pick up one of three public swing moorings. A member of our friendly Marina staff will come and see you the following morning, and will be more than happy to assist you.
Distillate and unleaded petrol are available for purchase during Marina Staff working hours. Mini tankers can be arranged by boat owners if required.
Fresh water is readily available on the marina. 240 volt power is also available in most areas.
We have a 3000 Kg SWL crane for launching and retrieving boats as well as a mast hoist. Our slipway is available for a prescribed fee, subject to member bookings and vessel size and weight. There are two concrete boat ramps for smaller boats. Larger yachts and powerboats can be delivered by road to the hard stand area and lifted by hire crane onto yard cradles and then slipped into the water. These large scale projects must be arranged with Marina staff well in advance of any planned deliveries.
Local chandleries and tradesmen including a shipwright, painter, marine engineer, sail maker and electronics servicemen are nearby for equipment repairs.
Occupational Health and Safety guidelines are in operation throughout the RGYC complex. Care for the environment is an underlying principle at RGYC. All waste is disposed of carefully and wash down water is filtered and recycled water collected on site. There is a waste oil collection facility which can be used by arrangement with Marina Staff.
If a member wishes to seek a berth, mooring, a hard stand place or locker at RGYC, it is essential that they complete the formal application process. There is no guarantee that a place is available for any particular boat.
